Quick Response codes (known as QR Codes or QR Tags) are advanced barcodes that are readable by smartphones and other devices such as iPods with cameras, etc. Unlike traditional barcodes that can contain only a few characters, QR Codes can contain over 4000 characters. Combined with mobile technology, this makes them perfect for displaying large amounts of text, creating links to websites, shortcuts to send pre-populated emails or text messages, links to iTunes, Google Maps, etc. On that basis, participants of this session will learn how to structure lessons using QR codes in activities such as multiple choice instant feedback, scavenger hunt test reviews, self-check flash cards, guided practice help, choose your own adventures, and more. Participants will explore the Aurasma Augmented Reality App through a brief demonstration of interaction with Auras. Participants will learn how to create an Aurasma account, create auras from templates, and set up a channel for viewing of nearby triggers, targets, and auras.
